Step 6

We’re entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character.

“Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will lift you up.” (James 4:10)

Readiness

The state of being fully prepared for something.

Willingness to do something.

Hi, My Name Is Ready

“Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends.” (Revelations 3:20)

Since God never forces himself into our lives, I must invite Him in.

Invitation:

God, I invite you into my life to do your will to make me more like you and less like myself. I need you to direct my path, and I will be obedient and follow. I let go and give my self-will to you to do your will in me one day at a time.

God, I understand that you are the Potter and I am the clay. I am entirely ready for you to remove all my defects of character.

My self-will have got me in so much trouble making decisions as I saw fit. I found myself in knee deep before I called on you, God. This time, I will seek you first before I make any decisions in my life. I will slow down and wait on you, Lord.

I feel like a child that has been given a brand-new bicycle and I don’t know how to ride it. I know that one day I will learn, but for now, I need to trust in someone to teach me. I know that I will fall off sometimes, but I will be determined to get back up and try again. You said, “For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again; but the wicked shall fall into mischief” (Proverbs 24:16, KJV).

“So right now hold on to me and don’t let go of me. I’m afraid and I shouldn’t be because you said you would never leave me nor forsake me.” (Deuteronomy 31:6)

God, there are some areas that I still struggle to let go, but you already know what they are. I believe that it has hindered my growth, and I can, I will, and I must let go.

Turning back is not an option.

The Narrow Gate or the Wide

“You can enter God’s Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way. But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it.” (Matthew 7:13–14, NLT)

In my dream, there were two gates, and inside the wide gate, I saw so many people that I knew from the streets. They were all pushing to get to the front to be told that they would be there for life and “There was no reason to be pushing because you are not going anywhere” is what the guard was telling them.

But inside the narrow gate where I was standing, asking, “Why were there so many inside the wide gate
